TOWANDA - A local mother and daughter were seriously injured in a head-on collision Sunday evening in Bradford County.
Krista L. Renzo, 40, was listed in good condition Tuesday in Robert Packer Hospital, Sayre. Her daughter, Gianna, a student at Lock Haven Catholic School, was discharged Tuesday from the hospital.
They were passengers in a pickup truck pulling a camper operated by their husband and father, Zane Renzo, who was treated for injuries and released.
The two occupants in the other vehicle had major injuries as well, police said.
Victoria M. Rosado, 23, of Blossburg, who was driving a Ford Escape, was reported in critical condition at Lehigh Valley Medical Center. Her passenger, Casey C. Yaggie, 23, of Roaring Branch, was listed in critical condition at Robert Packer Hospital.
State police at Towanda investigated the crash on Route 414 in Monroe Township, just before 5 p.m. Sunday.
Police said Renzo was eastbound and Rosado westbound. For some reason, police said, Rosado entered the eastbound lane. Zane Renzo saw Rosado's vehicle in his lane and tried to avoid a crash by moving into the eastbound lane. In the meantime, Rosado turned back into the west lane and the two vehicles collided head-on, police said.
The Renzos, of Lock Haven, were reportedly on their way to a riverlot in Towanda to spend the holiday.
