Sara E. "Sally" (Jobson) McCann, 80, of Mechanicsburg, formerly of Renovo, passed away July 8, 2012 at Carlisle Regional Medical Center surrounded by her children and grandchildren.

She was born March 8, 1932 to Hulbert "Brownie" Jobson and Peg (McKinnon) Jobson in Renovo. In 1950, she was united in marriage to her high school sweetheart, Thomas R. McCann, who preceded her in death in 1993 after a long battle with heart disease.

Sally graduated from Renovo High School in 1950 and was the first representative for the school at the first Flaming Foliage Festival as well as the Laurel Festival. She was a former member of St. Joseph Catholic Church, Renovo and the Catholic Daughters of America.

She adored her children and grandchildren and always made them her first priority above all else in life. She also enjoyed knitting and doing ceramics.

She is survived by six children who carry on her legacy, Mary Holder (Tom) of Kannapolis, N.C., Kathleen Johnson (Ken) of New Cumberland, Thomas McCann (Diane) of Halifax, Erin Christiana (the late Julius) of New Cumberland, Ruth Rineman (Tim) of Mechanicsburg, and Eric McCann of New Cumberland, with whom she lived and was her primary caretaker.

She is also survived by 15 grandchildren, nine great grandchildren, and one great-great grandchild as well as treasured cousins and their children who she considered extended family.

Her husband, parents, brother and sister, one nephew, niece and son-in-law, preceded her in death.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 11 a.m., Thursday, July 12, 2012 at St. Joseph Church, 925 Huron Ave., Renovo with the Rev. Charles Ugo officiating. Friends and relatives will be received at the church one hour prior to the Mass.

Interment will be private at St. Joseph Cemetery, Hyner.
