Shirley L. Ganyer, 76, of Hickory, N.C. and formerly of Lock Haven, died Tuesday, June 26, 2012.

She was born Feb. 21, 1936 in Lock Haven, the daughter of the late Daniel H. and Matilda A. Boob.

Shirley was a graduate of Mill Hall High School. Throughout her life she worked at Henry's Restaurant, Bobbie Brooks, and the Lock Haven Silk Mill. She was an avid bowler, and that bowling tradition is carried on today by her daughter, Debra.

She is survived by her husband, Jerry Ganyer of North Carolina; two daughters, Debra (Mike) Chilcott of Ohio and Sharon (Mike) Masorti of West Virginia; two sons, Richard (Becky) Masorti of Lock Haven and Dennis (Wendy) Masorti of Beech Creek; a brother, Roy (Janis) Boob of Mill Hall; 12 grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by four brothers, Wilbur, Richard, Harry and Robert Boob; and two sisters, Mixine Kerstetter and Agnes Yearick.

A memorial service will be held Saturday, July 14, 2012 at 7 p.m. at the Donald G. Walker Funeral Home, Inc., 231 High St., Flemington, with Deacon Chip Young officiating.
