Glenda G. Cox, 74, of 1433 Lusk Run Road, Mill Hall, died Thursday, July 12, 2012 at her home surrounded by friends and family.
She was born on March 27, 1938 in New Mexico, the daughter of the late George B. Garrett and Mary E. Garrett, who survives in New Mexico.
Following high school, Glenda attended Eastern New Mexico University for two years.

On Sept. 19, 1957, she married Dr. Kenneth M. Cox, who survives.
Glenda was a member of the Lock Haven Salvation Army Church. As a homemaker all her life, she was actively involved in numerous clubs and athletic programs. She belonged to the Lock Haven Order of Eastern Stars, was active with the Lock Haven Rainbow Girls Assembly and Lockettes Drill Team and several Lock Haven High School Bobcat Booster Clubs. As a part of her husband's dedicated coaching career, she was highly involved in Mat-Town USA and the LHU wrestling and boxing programs. She was the Secretary of Sports Information for the 1996 Olympics in Atlanta, Ga.
She was a very active member of the international organization "Peace Thru Sports" program, which promoted mutual understanding and cooperation between the USA and the USSR. Through this program, she and her husband made over 30 trips to Russia.
In addition to her husband and mother, Glenda is survived by five sons, Michael K. of Allentown, Richard M. of Orefield, David E. (Deanna) of Hanover, Dr. Lawrence G. (Brenda) of Lewisberry and Daniel J. (Amy) of North Carolina; a daughter, Deborah D. (Doug) Desmond of Clintondale; a brother, Lewis (Barbara) Garrett of Texas; two sisters, Ila Kay (Howard) Blackston of Colorado and Nancy Jespersen of New Mexico; 14 grandchildren, three step-grandchildren and four great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by a brother, James H. Garrett.
A funeral service will be held Monday, July 16, 2012 at the Flemington United Methodist Church, 225 High St., Flemington with Major Daniel Hilty officiating. A visitation will be held on Sunday from 2 to 4 p.m. at the church. Burial will be held privately at the convenience of the family in Cedar Hill Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Lock Haven Salvation Army Church or the Lock Haven University Boxing Club.
