LOCK HAVEN - Haven Skilled Rehabilitation and Nursing at Lock Haven Hospital (formerly Extended Care Unit) recently hosted a public open house.
Tours of the facility's rooms, and occupational and physical therapy departments were part of the event.
Barbara Nicklaus of Southern Care did a presentation on advance care planning and attorney Jim Malee offered a wide ranging overview of advanced directives. The facility has entered into an agreement with Select Rehabilitation and Novacare Physical Therapy to provide both inpatient and outpatient therapy services. Chris Benfield from Select Rehabilitation did a presentation on back safety.

"We are excited about the ability to offer quality, outcome focused, rehabilitation and restorative nursing care to get people back to their lives quickly," said Amy Comstock, administrator of Haven Skilled Rehabilitation and Nursing. "That combined with the ability to serve the long term needs of nursing patients."
Haven Skilled Rehabilitation and Nursing at is a 90-bed long term care facility. HSRN is accredited by The Joint Commission and is licensed by the Pennsylvania Department of Health.
Through carefully planned rehabilitation, patients can recover or increase their ability to perform daily activities. HSRN can ease worries and provide the rehabilitation services to help get patients back on their feet and back to life. After completion of an acute-care stay, the HSRN program allows patients to rehabilitate close to home, from any acute care facility.
Haven Skilled Rehabilitation and nursing offers a progressive restorative nursing program that is instrumental in supporting resident's ability to maintain their independence. All residents have an individualized plan of care developed with the resident's family involvement and coordinated by a registered nurse, primary care provider and therapy team members.
