Cooking Show tickets go on sale Thursday

July 14, 2012
By LANA MUTHLER (lmuthler@lockhaven.com) , The Express

The excitement is building as The Express staff makes plans for its fourth annual Fall Harvest Cooking Show.

Area residents are already marking their calendars for the September event and asking questions about when, where and how to get tickets.

This year, The Express has made some changes in how tickets will be sold in an effort to give everyone an equal opportunity to purchase them.

The tickets will go on sale at 8:30 a.m. Thursday at The Express, 9 W. Main St., Lock Haven. There are a limited number of VIP tickets available for the seats ... at tables... closest to the stage.

All tickets will be sold on a first-come, first-serve basis from The Express office downtown. None will be reserved or mailed. Tickets are limited to four per customer. The cost is $25 for VIP seats and $15 for general admission.

To get a head start and quicken your time in the ticket line, you may fill out the form on page C-5 and bring it with you. The forms will also be available at The Express when you purchase your tickets.

Tickets may be purchased with cash, check or any major credit card.

Now, here's a peak at this year's show...

r The main event begins at 6:30 p.m. on Wednesday, Sept. 12, at the Castanea Fire Co. Picnic Grounds in Lock Haven. Doors will open to ticket-holders at 4:15 p.m.

r A chef from a local restaurant will be presiding over the main event, cooking up some special dishes right in front of you.

r There will be a number of local eateries providing samples so you can taste some of the specialties on their menus.

r Dozens of vendors will have stations throughout the building, offering freebies, special buys, and information about their wares.

r Lock Haven Hospital will offer a healthy eating/cooking seminar.

r The Express will provide a "goodie bag" with coupons and gifts from various businesses.

That's enough information for now.

You'll have to wait a bit longer to get more details... like the name of the chef and the list of prizes that will be given away ... including one valued at between $300 to $500.

So, remember to get up early on Thursday and be at The Express when the doors open at 8:30 a.m. so you can get your tickets to this year's Fall Harvest Cooking Show.

It's sure to be a lot of fun again this year.
