According to police, the two victims were Chelsie Marie Werts and Thomas Leroy Fryer II, who were outside Sheetz and in the parking lot when the suspect started arguing with Fryer and was walking toward Fryer. Werts pushed the suspect away from Fryer and the suspect pushed Werts to the pavement where she landed on her back, hit her head and injured her arm and wrist. The suspect then got into the driver's side of the car as Werts entered the passenger side of the car, and the suspect started the car, put it into drive and said he was going to hit Fryer with the car. As the suspect drove at Fryer, Werts grabbed the wheel and turned it away.

The suspect then drove Werts to his house.
