LOCK HAVEN-Here comes round two of another heat wave across the area.
Although not as bad as just over a week ago, when high temperatures reached the triple digits, today should be sunny with a high of 95, before cooling a little on Wednesday with a high of 89, with a 50 percent chance of showers and thunderstorms.
Those showers and thunderstorms will be associated with a cold front that will push southeast across the state that day, accompanied by a cooler and less humid air mass for the latter half of the week, pushing high temperatures down into the mid 80s under mostly sunny skies Thursday through Monday.
While no heat warnings have been issued for this region, the National Weather Service has an excessive heat warning in effect for much of the Philadelphia region for today, with highs expected to approach triple digits. Heat advisories are also going into effect for parts of southern and western Pennsylvania, where today's highs are also expected to be in the mid to upper 90s. The high in Pittsburgh is expected in the mid 90s.
