LH Rotary honors Student Citizen

MILL HALL - Patricia "Trish" Gentzyel was recently honored as the Student Citizen of the Year by the Rotary Club of Lock Haven.

A 2012 Bucktail Area High School graduate, she was enrolled in the academics curriculum and was fifth in her class, with a GPA of 96.124. She plans to attend Mansfield University this fall to earn a degree in criminal justice.

A Rotary Interact Club member in high school, she also served on Student Council and as an officer of the class of 2012. She was a member of the National Honor Society and the Environmental, Yearbook, Journalism, Varsity, and Ski clubs. She participated in Model United Nations programs and represented her school as Miss Bucktail in 2011.

For her senior project, Trish organized and coordinated construction of much-needed dugouts at the Bucktail softball team field. She was a varsity member of the basketball, softball and tennis teams and also played in the summer women's softball league for the Renovo Sluggers.

She was named to the Mid-Penn Conference All Star teams for basketball and softball in her junior and senior years and received the 2012 Williamsport Sun-Gazette female scholastic sports award.

The daughter of Todd and Marie Gentzyel and granddaughter of Pattie and the late Alex Rauch, Trish has served on the Flaming Foliage Committee for the past 14 years. She is a member and former altar server at St. Joseph's Catholic Church.

She also has worked as a waitress at The Sportsman's Restaurant in Renovo for the past four years.
