I am writing this letter in hopes to excite community members to come out and support the only Clinton County community pool in Mill Hall.
This pool runs with the help of volunteers. We meet once a month, the second Thursday of every month, at 6:30 p.m. either at the pool in the warmer months or the Mill Hall Borough Office in the colder months. The volunteers decide the hours, the season time frame, prepare the pool for the season, close the pool down for the winter months, look out for the pool and make sure that it continues to be here for the community.
We do fundraising for the pool and we need you and your support.
We have had some mechanical issues this year. However, we have had the outstanding support of Terry Condo at Condo's in Mill Hall to come through and get us the parts and help us get the issues fixed as soon as we could. We are fortunate to have Rich Killinger and Ken McGhee, who have worked many hours to make sure we are able to get the doors open as soon as possible. We have loyal supporters who purchased family memberships, and were patient and understanding about the issues.
We, the Friends of the Community Pool, thank you for your support and we love seeing you come through the doors daily to enjoy the water and have fun. When you see a smile on somebody's face at the pool, it makes the work worthwhile.
I am asking for you - the one who is thinking could I make a difference in this community - to come to a meeting, volunteer some of your time and get involved.
There is a chicken bar-b-que fundraiser for the community pool from 11:30 a.m. to 1 p.m. this Saturday at the Mill Hall Community Park. The meal includes a half-chicken, baked beans, cole slaw, roll and butter. This event is being sponsored by the Mill Hall Kiwanis Club. Those driving through Mill Hall July 21 will smell the chicken cooking.
Tickets are available at the pool, Mill Hall Kiwanis members and Friends of the Community Pool members. Please contact one of us as soon as possible for tickets. You can call the pool at 570-726-3435 and leave a message if you want tickets and I will make sure the tickets are available to you. This is a great way to support the pool and show your concern for the future of the pool.
