Crash allegedly intended for suicide

JERSEY SHORE-Christopher Orle, 31, of Montague, N.J., allegedly drove his vehicle off Interstate 80 East in an attempt to kill himself with no concern for his passenger, Ronald Thorburn, 32, of Sussex, N.J., early on July 1, state police at Lamar said.

Muncy man seriously injured in crash

RAUCHTOWN-Sherman L. Barto, 62, of Muncy, sustained major injuries when he lost control of his 2003 V92 Cruiser Monday when he was driving on Rauchtown Road and crashed into a utility pole, state police at Lamar said. He was transported via EMS to Geisinger Medical Center in Danville; he had not worn his seatbelt, police said. Barto was charged with roadways laned for traffic, police said. Goodwill Hose Ambulance and Sugar Valley Volunteer Fire Co. assisted at the scene.

One-vehicle crash

LAMAR-As Justin A. Blachek, 23, of Loganton, was driving on Interstate 80 Sunday, he lost control as he negotiated a left curve on the wet road, and went across all three lanes of traffic and struck a guard rail, state police at Lamar said. His 2000 Oldsmobile Alero continued along the guard rail, damaging the right side and back right wheel before coming to rest on the right berm of the road, police said. Blachek was not injured, and was charged, police said.

Inspection stickers damaged

FLEMINGTON-Someone damaged the inspection stickers on two of the vehicles of Frank Glossner, 46, of 633 Woods Ave., Flemington, overnight July 13, state police at Lamar said. Anyone with information, contact Tpr. Campana at (570) 726-6000, incident number F04-1146989.

None hurt in two-vehicle collision

BEECH CREEK-When Janice R. Miller, 65, of Howard, was driving on Route 150 Monday, she allegedly didn't see that Tony T. Wood, 49, of Covington, had stopped on the road, and Miller allegedly struck the rear end of Wood's 2010 Jeep Laredo, state police at Lamar said. Miller's 2003 Chevrolet Cavalier was disabled and towed, while Wood's vehicle sustained minor damage and was driven from the scene, police said. Both drivers and all passengers wore seat belts and none were injured, police said.

Tractor trailer allegedly rear-ends car

LAMAR-John McGurie, 48, of Claflin, Kan., allegedly rear-ended the 1996 Geo Prizm of Linda Staples, 60, of DuBois, with his 2005 Peterbilt tractor trailer July 14 on Interstate 80, state police said. Staples was driving in the right lane, police said. No one was injured, but the Prizm sustained major rear-end damage, and the tractor trailer sustained front bumper damage, police said.

Car damages window

BEECH CREEK-When someone was trying to park at 7 Hill St. July 14, s/he allegedly struck a windowsill and window, damaging both, then fled the scene, state police at Lamar said.

Possible theft from vehicle

MILL HALL-Two white males were allegedly seen going through Alma King's glove box at 11 King Arthur Drive, Camelot Estates, at 3:40 a.m. Wednesday, state police at Lamar said. They were both over five feet, nine inches tall, slender, wearing white shirts, and one wore a hat and tan shorts, police said. Police advise the public to lock their vehicles. Alleged theft from Wal-Mart

MILL HALL-A former Wal-Mart employee is being investigated for theft-related offenses allegedly done on several occasions at the store between May 20 and June 23, state police at Lamar said.

Drug charges

MILL HALL-Jada Marie Ferguson, 25, of 14 King Arthur Drive, was allegedly witnessed with drug paraphernalia on July 14, and charges were filed, state police at Lamar said.

Open container violation

LOCK HAVEN-Two local men will receive citations for violating Lock Haven's open container ordinance, city police said. Erik Allen Hoffman, 22, of 124 Brandon Place, Apt. 24, Williamsport, and Kevin A. Meiser Jr., 28, of 421 W. Church St., Lock Haven, had open containers at the city beach early Wednesday morning, police said.

DUI charges

WILLIAMSPORT - Several local people have been charged by area police with driving under the influence of intoxicants or controlled substances.

- Benjamin Saar, 19, of 218 Glover St., Jersey Shore; Tiadaghton Valley Regional police in the 1200 block of Allegheny Street on June 5.

- Meredith Ann Robinson, 31, of Lock Haven; state police on Route 414 in Cummings Township on April 27.

- Philip David Kanski, 36, of 147 Mantle Lane, Jersey Shore; state police at East Third Street and Northway Road on March 18.

Parked car damaged

LOCK HAVEN-An unknown vehicle allegedly struck and damaged the tail light of a 1992 98 Elite Oldsmobile while parked on North Grove Street near the YMCA Tuesday, city police said.

Heroin possession alleged

LOCK HAVEN-Shawn Paul Mills, 28, of 5 Shamrock St. was arrested for possession of drugs after he was allegedly found with a small amount of heroin on West Bald Eagle Street July 12, city police said.

Intersection collision

LOCK HAVEN-Robert D. Jones of Shickshinny allegedly struck the 1989 Chevrolet of Richard Leroy Clark of Lewistown when going through the intersection at Jay Street and East Water Street July 13, city police said. Jones told police he was following his wife's vehicle and didn't see Clark's vehicle going through the intersection, police said. Jones' 1991 Ford F150 sustained damage to the front right corner, police said. Clark told police he had waited his turn to go through the intersection and was struck while turning left; his vehicle sustained damage to the right side near the rear, police said. Jones was cited, police said.

Bicycle found

LOCK HAVEN-A 26-inch men's bicycle was found at 329 E. Church St. Monday, and the owner may identify and claim it at City Hall, police said.

Purse stolen from car

MILL HALL-A purse on Trish Heichel's vehicle's front seat was stolen overnight Tuesday at Cottage Lane, state police at Lamar said. Her car window was open, and the total loss was $90, police said.

Pellet gun causes damage

LAMAR-Someone shot a pellet gun at Randy Hoy's home's side window and four times at the tin siding, then fled the residence, Sunday night, state police at Lamar said. Total damage is $140, police said.

Theft from Wal-Mart

MILL HALL-Elizabeth Wurm, 20, of Mill Hall, allegedly took a package of fireworks valued about $10 and put them in her stroller and left the store without paying for them June 12, state police at Lamar said.

Attempted theft

MILL HALL-Elizabeth Ellen Wurm, 20, of 206 Oak Lane, Flemington, is charged with criminal attempt/theft after she allegedly attempted to steal items from a residence on the 1300 block of Sugar Run Road the night of Feb. 14, state police at Lamar said.

PFA violated

BEECH CREEK-Timothy W. Losch of Howard was charged with violating a Centre County PFA Order, and was taken into custody and put in Clinton County Correctional Facility to await arraignment Tuesday, state police at Lamar said.

Crash on Rt. 64

LAMAR-Joshua A. Fryer, 30, of Yeagertown, was driving north on Route 64 Wednesday when his 2007 Hyundai Veracruz allegedly struck the rear of the 2012 Mack truck Randell X Walker, 35, of Frenchville, was driving, state police at Lamar said. Neither were injured, police said.

Harassment

BEECH CREEK-Lacey Richner of 103 Jusick Lane, allegedly punched Melissa Workman of Asalea Drive, State College, on the head Wednesday, state police at Lamar said.

Criminal mischief

RENOVO-Someone tried to cut a master lock off a storage shed owned by Bruce Lee Squibb of Shillington at Boone Road in Leidy Township between June 26 and July 12, state police at Lamar said. The actor was unsuccessful at removing the lock and fled the scene, police said.
