Eugene Allen "Gene" Weaver, 55, of Narrows Road, Lamar, passed away at home on Thursday, July 19, 2012.

Born on July 15, 1957 in Lewisburg, he was the son of Earl and Patricia Embick of Loganton.

Gene graduated from the former Sugar Valley High School in 1975 and attended the Williamsport Area Community College studying aviation mechanics and air frame.

He owned and operated the former Ems Pizza and Subs of Loganton. A talented carpenter and masonry contractor, he was the owner of the former Creekside Construction Co.

Gene was an avid outdoorsman, and hunting and fishing with his friends gave him great joy as did spending time with his dog, Smitty.

Along with his parents, he is survived by a son, Logan Weaver of Mifflinburg; a brother, Keith Erdley of Loganton, a sister, Ginny Hackenberg of Mill Hall, two step-brothers, James Embick of Milton and Douglas Embick of Mill Hall, a step-sister, Carol Owens of York; and his long-time companion and wife, Lisa Yarnell of Lamar.

The funeral service will be held Monday, July 23, 2012 at 10 a.m. in the Wayne P. Urbine Funeral Home, Inc., 95 E. Main St., Loganton, with Capt. Doug Richwine of the Salvation Army officiating. Visitation will be held in the funeral home on Sunday from 6 to 9 p.m. Final interment will be at Mt. Union Cemetery, Carroll, Pa.

If desired, memorials may be made in Gene's memory to the Salvation Army, 32 Center St., Milton, PA 17847, which, for many months, has been assisting in supporting Gene and his family.
