Interventional cardiologist joins GMC

DANVILLE - Sandy Green, M.D., recently joined Geisinger Medical Center as an interventional cardiologist.

Dr. Green comes to GMC from the University of Pittsburgh Medical Center, where he completed fellowships in cardiology in 2011 and interventional cardiology in 2012.

He earned his medical degree from Temple University School of Medicine, Philadelphia, in 2005 and went on to earn a Master's Degree in Medical Education from the University of Pittsburgh in 2012. Board-certified in internal medicine, Green completed his residency in internal medicine at Massachusetts General Hospital, Boston, Mass., in 2008.

Green is skilled in using computer simulators to train physicians, and he will assist in Geisinger's medical education programs. An active writer and researcher, he has been published in various medical journals. He also holds memberships with the American Medical Association, the American College of Physicians and the American College of Cardiology.
