Drunk driving alleged

WILLIAMSPORT - Zachary D. Herman, 20, of 509 S. Main St., Jersey Shore, was arrested for driving while intoxicated Sunday, Cpl. Derron M. Farber of the Pennsylvania State Police at Montoursville said. Police said Herman was found stopped on the Maynard Street ramp of Interstate 180 in the city, and when the corporal checked on the man's condition, was found to be under the influence of alcohol. Charges are pending the finish of the investigation, police said.

Forged checks

HOWARD-Over $5,500 was allegedly fraudulently withdrawn from a Howard woman's checking account via forged checks between June 29 and July 18, state police at Rockview said. Edna Winifred Stitt, 89, was notified by her bank that her account was overdrawn, and an investigation within the bank revealed that several checks were cashed without Stitt's consent or knowledge, police said. The suspect allegedly received Stitt's checking account information prior or around June 29, and produced checks using Stitt's checking account and personal information, police said. The investigation is ongoing, police said.

Bicycle stolen

LOCK HAVEN-A 20-inch girls Mongoose bicycle was stolen overnight Tuesday at 116 Prospect St., valued at $100, city police said.

Hit and run alleged

LOCK HAVEN-Someone allegedly struck the 2012 Subaru Impreza of Marianne C. Olivo which was parked at West Park Street near West Bald Eagle Street Monday night, city police said. The front bumper retained scratches with white paint transfer, police said.
