- Kettle Creek Ambulance is collecting empty ink cartridges from computer printers. When 10 or more are collected, they are recycled at Staples for Staples Rewards Dollars which the ambulance association can spend on office materials. If you have cartridges to donate, please call Carol Hyde at 570-923-2833 or Helen Labant at 570-923-9923. You also can drop them off at the fire hall.
- Christmas in July was observed Sunday, July 22 at Sunset Memorial Church. We sang Christmas carols. Pastor Mahlon Nevel's sermon was "The King." Several persons wore Christmas colors or pins and other items relating to the holiday.
- Mary and Bill Arnold and several other members of the Spaghetti Club were at the Black Forest Inn that Sunday evening for the Larry McGregor fundraiser.
- Ron Arches of Elkton, Md. visited the Horkeys and his family, Linda and Autumn, that weekend. The Arches family returned home together Sunday.
- Mary Arnold has received word that her article was printed in the book "Penny Candy and Grandma's Porch Swing." Tales from the good old days were requested. Mary decided to write about Cross Fork. Eight articles were submitted from this and surrounding areas. Four were chosen for publication in the book of memories from the Northcentral Pennsylvania region, and the others received honorable mention.
- Nat and Renee Summerson and her fiance, Teddy, were at camp and visited the Arnolds.
Twila Daugherty and Midge Cheek of Camp Hill visited the Arnolds on Tuesday.
- Bob and Kay Shaull of Airville spent the weekend of July 21 at camp and visited Don and Violet.
- Happy birthday to these who celebrate in August: Lisa Jones of Maryland, Lois Reynolds of Apollo, Josh Wilson of Harrisburg, Suellen Wagner, Pastor Mahlon Nevel, David Stout of Renovo; Steve Miller, Marlene Horkey and Don Whitcomb of Tamarack; and Billy LeFort, Susie Clemmer, Barb Hood, Joyce Justice, Shirley and Dylan Cross, Shorty Roff, Alice Ransdorf and Gail White.
