STEP Inc. (Clinton County Community Center) recently received an American flag and a Clinton County flag. The flags were donated by Terry and Carmen Banfill and the flag poles and bases were donated by Barb Barger in memory of her husband, Sr. Chief Thomas C. Barger. Barger was a 26-year veteran of three conflicts - World War II, Korea and Vietnam - and received many decorations, most notably the Distinguished Flying Cross with one gold star. Mrs. Barger's daughter, Kim Garlick, spoke about her step-father. Jane Thompson, representing STEP Inc., thanked the Banfills and Barger. "These flags and stands were much needed for our complex," she said. The Lindy Sisters from California sang the National Anthem. Colorguard included Sgt. Bill Peck, Sgt. Lang Gillen, Sgt. Terry Banfill and Pfc. Don Hills. Sgt. Peck played TAPS.
