STATE COLEGE - The Mount Nittany Medical Center Laboratory was awarded AABB accreditation for demonstrating excellence in professionalism, expertise, quality and patient safety.
The AABB, formally known as American Association of Blood Banks, is an international, non-profit association dedicated to the advancement of science and the practice of transfusion medicine and related biological therapies.
With this accreditation, the Mount Nittany Medical Center Laboratory joins an elite group of providers worldwide that has been recognized for excellence in collecting, processing, testing, distributing and administering blood and cellular therapy products, according to Ed Corona, administrative director of laboratory services.
