PLEASANT GAP - A Howard man has died from injuries suffered in a two-vehicle crash at Route 150 and the Rockview Road in Benner Township on Monday night, state police said.

Matthew Henry Snyder, 25, was pronounced dead at the scene by Centre County Coroner Scott Sayers.

Police said Danielle Nicole Packer, 20, of Bellefonte was driving her 2006 Chevrolet Trailblazer north when she became distracted for some reason, causing the SUV to drift into the southbound lane about 9:30 p.m.

The Blazer crashed head-on into Snyder's 2003 Hyundai Accent, which was traveling south on Route 150, police said.

The SUV skidded 180 degrees counterclockwise before coming to rest in the southbound lane facing south.

After the impact, Snyder's auto skidded 90 degrees counterclockwise as it traveled off the right berm and into a grass field, according to police.

The Accent came to rest off the right berm facing east.

Police were assisted at the scene by Undine, Logan, Alpha and Pleasant Gap fire companies, and by Bellefonte and Pleasant Gap emergency medical services.
