Ronald C. Thompson Sr., 80, of Beech Creek, died Friday, Aug. 10, 2012 at Lock Haven Hospital.
He was born in Howard on Aug. 18, 1931, a son of the late Clair and Dorothy Wentzel Thompson.
He married to Virginia Wagner on May 21, 1955. She survives at home.
Ron was a gradutate of Howard High School Class of 1949.
He was employed at Cerro Metal of Bellefonte, retiring after 34 years of service.
He was a member of the Libery Baptist Church, Blanchard.
He proudly served his country in the U.S. Army during the Korean Conflict.
In addition to his wife, he is survived by a daughter, Joyce Dowler (Robert) of Latrobe; two sons, Ronald Jr. (Nancy) of Brea, Calif., and David Thompson of Rote; two sisters, Marie Pletcher of Blanchard and Jane Smith of Howard; a brother, Richard Thompson of Howard; and five grandchildren, Kristin, Blair, Jason, Adam and Kyle.
Funeral services will be Monday, Aug. 13, 2012 at 10:30 a.m. at Kader-Neff Funeral Home and Cremation Services Inc., 135 W. Main St., Howard. Rev. Stan D. Johnson will officiate. Burial will be in Hays-Fearon Cemetery, Beech Creek. Visitation will be Sunday, Aug. 12 from 6 to 8 p.m. at the funeral home.
