WILLIAMSPORT - The Small Business Development Center of Lock Haven University will hold a "First Step for Starting a Small Business" workshop from 9 a.m. to noon on Aug. 24, 2012 at LHU Small Business Development Center, 100 W. Third St., Williamsport.

The workshop will be led by the SBDC staff and will teach participants how to plan a business for start-up and begin on the path to continuing business success. The SBDC staff will cover topics every hopeful business owner should know: the basics of establishing a business idea, feasibility, marketing research and strategies, how to discover which regulations/licensing would apply to a business and how to create a business plan to obtain financing, along with much more.

For more information and register for the workshop, call the SBDC at 570-484-2848 or visiting the website at www.lhup.edu/sbdc. The registration fee for the First Step course is being waived as a result of SBA funding support from the Jobs Act. Calling and reserving a spot in this class is highly recommended as spaces will be limited.
