John D. Simcox Jr., 82, of 606 E. Water St., Lock Haven, died Tuesday, Sept. 4, 2012 at the Lock Haven Hospital.
He was born Dec. 30, 1929 in Lock Haven, the son of the late John D. Simcox Sr. and Greta E. Fernburg Simcox.
On July 2, 1977 in Lock Haven, he married the former Glenda Lynn Johnson, who survives.
He was employed for 32 years with Piper Aircraft until its closing. He then worked for Lock Haven Airmotive, and later retired from Champion Parts Rebuilders.
John was a member of the U.S. Army, serving during the Korean War.
He was a member of the First Church of Christ of Lock Haven. He enjoyed collecting post cards of the area and working with metal.
He is survived by one daughter, Susan White, and two sons, David and Brian, all of Harrisburg; one sister, Marjorie Coder of Lamar; and several grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by a son, Michael; a sister, Ruth Lapp; and a brother, Albert.
Funeral services were held Friday, Sept. 7, 2012 at 2 p.m. at the Donald G. Walker Funeral Home, Inc., 231 High St., Flemington. Friends were received at the funeral home one hour prior to the service.
