Dr. James A. Jenkins, 88, of Loganton, passed away peacefully on Sunday, Sept. 16, 2012 at the Lock Haven Hospital Extended Care Unit.
He was the son of James T. and Maude (Zuern) Jenkins and was born in Toronto, Ontario, Canada and lived there before moving to the United States to complete his graduate studies, where he earned his Ph.D. from Harvard University in 1948.
He was a professor of Mathematics and complex analysis at Notre Dame and Washington University.
He was the beloved uncle of Daphne Seretis-Veilleux and Alec Seretis and cherished grand uncle of Laurent-Philippe, Jean-Simon and Breanna Veilleux.
Along with his parents, he was predeceased by his sister, Marion Seretis and nephew, Philip Seretis.
The funeral service will be held on Saturday, Sept. 22, 2012 at 11 a.m. in the Sugar Valley Church of the Brethren, Eastville, with Pastor Ken Geisewite officiating. A visitation will be held in the church one hour prior to the service. Final interment will be held in the adjoining church cemetery.
