SHOPPING TRIP
The Cheerful Workers class of Faith Chapel United Methodist Church at Hunter Run will be hosting a shopping bus trip to Tanger Outlet Center and Rockvale Square Outlets in Lancaster on Saturday, Nov. 3. The bus will depart from Howard Elementary School at 7 a.m. and will be back around 10 p.m. The cost is $25. MUSEUM MEETING
A meeting will be held at the Beech Creek Museum on Sept. 27 at 7 p.m. This is a planning meeting for the upcoming open house to be held on Oct. 14. The museum is looking for volunteers to attend this meeting so that plans and schedules can be firmed up for the open house. There are some housekeeping preparations (dusting, cleaning, arranging items) that need to be completed and anyone who can help by donating some hours to the museum is encouraged and welcomed.
Morgan Bittner has worked so hard over the past year and we want to help celebrate her accomplishments by sharing the open house with her.
FALL SALE
The Advent Historical Society will be holding a fall yard and bake sale at the church grounds along Moose Run Road on Oct. 5 from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. and on Oct. 6 from 9 a.m. to noon. There will be lots of baked goods and a large selection of yard sale items such as house wares, clothes, toys, books and plants.
Donations of items and also helpers will be appreciated. Call Judy at 355-1140 for more info.
WEEKEND EVENTS
- A ladies retreat will be held at Sylvan Hills Church Camp along Little Marsh Creek Road. The cost is $20 and registration begins at 4 p.m. today. Call the camp at 355-5652 for more details.
- Liberty Township Sportsmen's Association is having a chicken barbecue on Saturday from 12:30 to 2:30 p.m. The price of a meal is $8 and includes chicken, baked potato, baked beans, pepper slaw, roll and cake. Call Dwight at 357-2359 for more info.
- An open house will be held at the Howard Fire Hall on Saturday to celebrate Earl Thompson's 80th birthday. Friends and family are invited to the open house from 3-5 p.m.
- Family movie night is set for Sunday evening at Marsh Creek BIC Church. Bring the whole family for a time of fellowship at 5:30 and the movie begins at 6 p.m.---
