Due to the superstorm, several communities changed their Halloween plans. The changes that have been announced, as of press time, follow.
Lock Haven, Flemington, Lamar Township, Renovo, and Woodward Township have all moved trick-or-treating to Saturday. Hours are 6 to 8 p.m.
- LH Fire Co. parade
The city's annual Halloween Parade, sponsored by the Lock Haven Fire Department, will line up at 6 p.m. Saturday on North Henderson Street between East Main and East Water streets, and march at 7 p.m. Everyone is encouraged to come in costume (no political advertising) and compete for prizes which will be awarded immediately after the parade at Hope Hose House.
- Lock Haven Elks
The lodge has moved the children's party to Saturday so that it will continue to coincide with the Lock Haven Fire Department Parade. Free and open to the public, the party in the Elks lobby will start at 5:30 p.m. and will include apple bobbing, other games with prizes, plus costume prizes. A special Wing Night, open to the public, also will be held Saturday starting at 5:30 p.m., with D.J. music and costume prizes for adults. (Tonight's Wing Night at the club will be held as usual.)
Lock Haven First Church of Christ announces a Trunk-or-Treat event Saturday from 5:30 to 7 p.m., open to parade-goers and the general public. Car trunks will be open and filled with candy for costumed kids. Hot chocolate also will be available.
- SVRCS Parade
Sugar Valley Rural Charter School's Halloween parade through Loganton has been moved to today at 12:30 p.m.
- Liberty-Curtin Elementary School
The school's Halloween parade and party has been rescheduled to Wednesday, Nov. 7. The parade is at 1:10 p.m. with a Halloween party for parents afterward. The rain date is Nov. 8. If it rains on that day as well, the party will take place but the parade will be cancelled.
