Devin Stacey was a handsome young man with a great smile who his friends said was always telling jokes and laughing.
He was a talented athlete who excelled in sports.
It was just last month when Devin's picture appeared on the front page of The Express with other seniors on the Central Mountain High School wrestling team as it began post-season competition.
At top, Devin Stacey, in blue, competes against a BEA wrestler at the district duals. Above, from left, Caleb Stover, Cole Hanley and Devin Stacey are all dressed up for the prom.
Devin went to regionals and placed fourth, standing proudly on the podium with a medal around his neck.
The 17-year-old was looking toward this summer, participating in another sport he loved - baseball - and making decisions about his future following high school graduation in June.
But now he's gone, leaving the community to mourn the loss of another one of its bright stars.
Devin died Thursday night at the home of a friend in the village of Blanchard in eastern Centre County, according to state police at Rockview.
His death is under investigation by state police and Centre County Coroner Scott Sayers.
