Boyd Edward Gummo, 96, of Clearfield and formerly of Curwensville passed away Friday Nov. 8, 2013 at his residence.
Born April 3, 1917 in Lock Haven, he was the son of Charles Edward and Edna Grace (Sankey) Gummo.
He was Lab Tech for NARCO and retired after 47 years and 9 months of service. He was a member of Curwensville United Methodist Church and a lifetime member of the NRA.
On June 23, 1939 in Lock Haven he wed the former Eleanor Mae Overdorf who preceded him in death on June 18, 1999.
He is survived by two children, Charles Gummo of Curwensville, and Richard Gummo of Clearfield; seven grandchildren, seven great grandchildren. two sisters Jane Heverly of Howard, PA, Peggy Bearly and her husband Bill of Albuquerque, New Mexico, and a brother Thomas Gummo of Pearl, Utah.
He was preceded in death by his parents, wife, brothers Paul, John, Bruce, Richard and infant Charles Gummo and infant sister Joy Gummo and sister Mary E. Shope.
Funeral Services for Mr. Gummo will be held at 11 a.m. Wednesday, Nov. 13 at the Curwensville United Methodist Church with Rev. Dr. Robert S. Ludrowsky officiating. Interment will be held in the Rest Haven Cemetery in Woolrich.
Friends will be received at from 7 to 9 p.m. today and at 9:30 a.m. Wednesday until 10:30 a.m. the Chester C. Chidboy Funeral Home, Inc of Curwensville.
Graveside committal services will be conducted on Thursday November 14, 2013 at 11:00 AM in the Rest Haven Cemetery, Woolrich.
