Telephone pole struck
PORTER TOWNSHIP - State police in Lamar report a hit and run crash on Nittany Valley Drive at around 5:30 Sunday.
Police said the crash occurred as the driver was travelling south on Nittany Valley Drive just south of Jupiter Lane when their vehicle traveled off the north side berm of the south bound lane and struck the pole with the car's right front hood, headlight assembly and fender.
The vehicle was able to be driven from the scene and the driver was uninjured and wearing their seatbelt, police said.
Ice causes crash
GREENE TOWNSHIP - An unnamed 17-year-old Loganton resident was involved in a crash that occurred at around 8:30 a.m. Monday on Rauchtown Road.
State police from Lamar said the driver was traveling south on Rauchtown Road and upon seeing a vehicle in their lane, said she moved slightly to the right side to avoid a collision. The movement cause the vehicle to slide on the icy roadway and leave the roadway, where it struck an embankment then overturned onto the driver's side.
No injuries were reported, as the driver was wearing their seatbelt. No citations were issued in the crash, as it resulted from poor roadway conditions.
LOCK HAVEN - City police said a tractor trailer struck a sign and retaining wall while turning onto East Walnut Street off of Bellefonte Avenue Dec. 7 at around 6:45.
Police said Steven Wayne Dehart of Maryland was driving his truck on Bellefonte Avenue and turned onto East Walnut Street when the rear of his trailer knocked over a sign and struck a retaining wall, as well as damaged a lawn. Police said a witnessed tipped them off to the incident, and said they believed the truck was heading to First Quality.
When police arrived, Dehart was there, and was reportedly surprised to find out he had hit anything. Further inspection revealed the trailer had blue marks near the rear of the trailer where it had struck the sign and retaining wall.
Police informed Michael Eric Hastings, 28, of Lock Haven, of the damages to property at 720 Bellefonte Ave., which he owned.
Hit and Run
LOCK HAVEN - A stop sign at the intersection of South Jones and Shamrock Street was the victim of a hit and run between 5:30 and 11:30 a.m. Dec. 7.
City police said they were called to the scene when a witness observed the stop sign at the intersection was bent. The witness said the sign was straight when she left for work early that morning, but when she returned, the sign was bent.
LOCK HAVEN - City police said a car parked in city parking off East Main Street was keyed.
The incident occurred overnight between Dec. 8 and 9, police said. The damages are estimated at $200.
LOCK HAVEN - A pair of earings were stolen from a residence, police said.
The earings, valued at $50, were taken from the residence of an unnamed 34-year-old woman sometime between Nov. 29 and 30.
