Bald Eagle Area bested Penns Valley, 9-3, in their season opener behind nice pitching efforts from starter Ryan Guenot and reliever Brandon Barnyak, who allowed just four combined hits all game. At the plate, Noah Chambers led the way for the Bald Eagles, going 3-4 with three singles.

Bald Eagle Area steamrolled Penns Valley, 10-0, in six innings behind the arm of Moreta Dyke.

In tennis, Central Mountain earned its first win of the season, besting Mifflinburg 3-2. Kline Williams led the Wildcats in their win, coming away with a 6-0, 6-3 win over Mifflinburg’s Lucas Fayson in No. 1 singles. Micah Brinker and Mitch Wheary added the team’s other wins, with great respective showings in their singles matchups.

Jersey Shore fell to Williamsport, 4-1, after losing all but their No. 1 doubles match, where the duo of Jake Butzler and Connor Anderson won in consecutive sets.
