LHU’s Amir Hinton named PSAC Freshman of the Week

LOCK HAVEN, Pa. – Amir Hinton (Philadelphia/Abington) of the Lock Haven University men’s basketball team has been named the Pennsylvania State Athletic Conference (PSAC) Freshman of the Week, marking the fifth consecutive week and seventh total time this season he’s been honored with the award.

Despite a loss at No. 10 Kutztown Saturday (Feb. 4), Hinton was at it again and scored a game-high 27 points. He was 11 of 21 from the field, hit one 3-pointer (1 of 3) and he was 4 of 5 from the free-throw line. He added four rebounds (3 off.), an assist, a block and a steal in 34 minutes of play.

Hinton is averaging 23.6 points per game this season through 20 total games which ranks No. 2 in the PSAC and No. 10 in NCAA DII.

Lock Haven is geared up for a busy week as the Bald Eagles head to Shippensburg Wednesday, before traveling to Millersville Saturday.
