Pennsylvania Railroad shops working hard
PHOTO PROVIDED
This photo shows why Renovo has so many train tracks — in its heyday, the Pennsylvania Railroad made good use of them. Charles Barnum, a Renovo area historian, lent us this photo, taken “when steam was king,” possibly in the 1940s. The steam is all from yard steam engines that moved the freight around to make up trains, except the steam engine on the left. It is seen running on what was the main line.
