Lady Nittany Lions make big move up the leaderboard

MAINEVILLE, Ohio — The Penn State women’s golf team made a huge comeback during the third round of the Big Ten Tournament shooting four-under 284, for a tournament score of 887 (plus-23). The lions improved 25 shots from the first round completing the tournament in eighth place overall.

“I was very proud of this team for coming back strong after a tough first round,” commented Head Coach Denise St. Pierre, “It truly was a team effort with great rounds coming throughout our lineup led by an incredible round of 67 by Cara yesterday.”

Michigan State pulled ahead of Maryland by five shots to take the Big Ten Championship with a three-round score of 859 (-5). Ohio State’s Jaclyn Lee finished first in the 84-player field with a three-round score of nine-under 207.

Junior Cara Bass finished the day under par.
