AUTO RACING ROUNDUP: Dietrich wins again, this time at “The Speed Palace” for $3,500

At Port Royal Speedway, Danny Dietrich picked up his fourth win at “The Speed Palace”, the win was worth $3,600. In the 22-lap super late model main, Dylan Yoder of Selinsgrove overtook Tim Smith Jr. for his second victory of the season at the track, worth $2,000. Then the rain hit again when the 305 sprinters were on the track, postponing their feature to June 30 and postponing the econo late model feature until next week.

The inaugural Lucas Oil American Sprint Car Series Eleven Oaks Farm/Mach 1 Chassis Battle of the Groves Saturday night at Selinsgrove Speedway was won by Blaine Heimbach, The race was Night 2 of the Battle of the Groves weekend with Greg Hodnett of York taking the win in Friday’s race at Williams Grove Speedway in Mechanicsburg. They also had to postpone their 20-lap limited late model and 15-lap pro stock features due to rain that hit the speedway about 9:30 p.m. Track officials will announce makeup times for those features.

Clinton County and Lincoln Speedway also lost to Mother Nature for the second week in a row. Jennerstown Speedway is planning to have their opening day next week with five different divisions of stock cars to compete every Saturday night. Hummingbird speedway got their opening night race in with Zach Myers of Knox in the Swanson Heavy Duty Truck Repair Semi-Late Models, Bruce Hartzfeld of Stump Creek in the Cypress Clock & Gift Shop Street Stocks, Chris Farrell of Clearfield in the BWP Bats Late Models, Raven Fuller of Luthersburg in the Sunny 106.5 FM Pure Stocks, and Zach Lennox of Brockway in the Aaron’s of DuBois Front-Wheel Drive Four-Cylinders.
