LOCK HAVEN – Ben Robinson, a 2016 Lock Haven University graduate and former LHU men’s cross country and track & field standout, has been selected to represent the United States at the 2018 World Skyrunning Championships in Kinlochleven, Scotland (September 13-15).

Skyrunning is broken into three major classifications: vertical, ultra, and sky.

In Scotland at the World Championships, Robinson will compete in the vertical kilometer race (5K with 3,000-foot elevation gain) and the sky race (29K with 8,500-foot elevation gain).

“Being selected to represent the United States at the Skyrunning World Championships in Scotland is an absolute honor,” said Robinson. “The selection to the team was based on a resume process and the top four men and women were selected by the team manager.”

“Skyrunning is an extreme mountain sport that is comprised of three disciplines and I’m lucky enough to be racing for the world title in both the vertical and sky disciplines. I can’t wait to put the work in, which will allow me to finish as high as personably possible, and hopefully help the team onto the podium as well.”
