Keystone suffers 8-0 defeat to New York in Eastern Region Invitational
CRANSTON, RI — In their final action of pool play in the 9/10 Eastern Region Invitational tournament, the Keystone 8-10 All-Stars suffered defeat to New York, 8-0.
Pitching was excellent for Keystone only allowing four hits in the game, however, three walks and four errors contributed to Keystone’s loss.
In the top of the first inning, New York was quick to jump into action and put five runs on the board. A single, double, two walks, a hit batter and Keystone error gave the New York All-Stars a 5-0 lead when the smoke had cleared.
After a pair of base hits and another pair of Keystone errors, New York was able to add three more runs to their lead in the top of the second. After the dust had settled, New York had an 8-0 advantage heading into the bottom of the inning.
Keystone was only able to achieve four total hits in the game — Nolan Cross, Hayes Miller, Austin Andrus and Hunter Donley all for singles.
On the mound for Keystone, Cross, Andrus and Watt Probst combined for four allowed hits, three walks and five strikeouts.
