LHU’s Foltz named Academic All-American; four earn All-Region

LOCK HAVEN — Four Bald Eagles were named to the 2018 United Soccer Coaches NCAA Division 2 Women’s Scholar All-East Region Team and Junior Marah Foltz (Mountville, Pa./Hempfield) was named to the Division II Academic All-American First Team.

Junior-forward Haleigh Swam (Westminster, Md./James Buchanan), an accounting and business administration major, was named an All-East region scholar second team. Also on the second team was senior-defender Jordan Shoff (York, Pa./York Suburban), a sport administration major, and senior-midfielder Ella Jones (Mohnton, Pa./Reading Area C.C.), a criminal justice major.

Foltz, a sport administration major, was named both an All-East Region first team and All-American first team scholar.

The United Soccer Coaches Academic honors require that student athletes excel both on the field and in the classroom. Student-athletes must have a cumulative 3.30 GPA or higher in their collegiate career and start more than 50 percent of all games and be an elite player as supported by playing honors (i.e., all-conference) or contributions to the success of his/her team.
