Local high school athletes qualify for states in gymnastics

LOCK HAVEN- Gymnasts from Central Mountain High School, and Sugar Valley Rural Charter School, who compete for the Lock Haven Area YMCA qualified for the 2019 PA Classic, which serves as the Pennsylvania state high school gymnastics championships. Each gymnast must compete in five PIAA meets and earn minimum scores in their division to qualify.

Freshman Ashley Rich, Sophomore Harleigh Andrews and Senior Hunter Barger qualified for the Silver Division in the All-Around.

Freshman Hannah Brown qualified for beam and floor in the Silver division. Freshmen Alyssa VanGorder and Emma Lee Fox qualified for vault, beam and floor in the Silver division.

Sophomore Tatum Malone qualified for vault, beam and floor in the gold division.

The championship meet is held at Moon High School near Pittsburgh on Saturday, Feb. 23, 2019 with awards being announced immediately following the conclusion of the team competition.
