Wildcats fall at home to Hollidaysburg, 70-34

The Central Mountain boys basketball team fell at home Thursday against the Hollidaysburg Golden Tigers, 70-34. The loss dropped Central Mountain to 5-15 on the season.

“There were a lot of variables for Thursday’s loss,” Central Mountain coach Tyler Bardo explained. “You can look at the fact the we’ve had 10 games in like 17 days. “And certainly Wednesday’s loss to Jersey Shore was deflating. And I think to come in here with the awkward start time was a part of those variables.”

Collin Jones was CM’s lone double-digit scorer with 11 points. Conner Soo added eight, Jake Skrtich added six, Peyton Johnson notched three, and JT Pentz, Aidan Major and Cayde McCloskey each added two points.

Central Mountain returns Saturday with an away contest versus Mifflin County. The Huskies are 0-20 on the year, but Bardo will prepare his team not to fall into the hole of a trap game.

“We’re going to prepare for what we consider a dangerous team,” Bardo said. “Our expectation and standard will be that we are there mind, body and soul.”
