Bellefonte Track: Raiders show promise at Brookville Invitational

Members of the Bellefonte track and field teams had promising performance at this weekend’s Brookville invitational. No Raider placed first in any events–but numerous athletes had top-10 finishes.
Chelsea Robson took second place in the 400-meter dash with a time of 1:04.15.
Amaya Rothrock placed eighth in the 800 meter run. Teammate Katheryn Morgante finished tenth in the same event.
Mia Elmore and Rothrock finished just outside the top 10 in the 1600 meter run. Elmore placed eleventh with a time of 6:04.94, and Rothrock crossed the finish line 12th with a time of 6:09.20.
Amber Shirey placed eleventh in the 3200 meter run with a time of 13:39.63.
The 4×400 relay of Gracie Sweka, Chelsea Robson, Katheryn Morgante and Mia Elmore placed sixth.
Robson had another strong showing with a third-place finish in the triple jump and a sixth-place finish in the pole vault.
Ryan Bossert’s 11.69 time in the 100-meter dash earned him a sixth-place finish.
Jacob Hummel placed ninth in the 200 meter dash.
Logan Von Gunden finished eighth in the 400-meter dash with a 56.31 time. Teammate Austin Craig placed tenth in the same event.
Daniel Methven finished ninth in the 800-meter run with a time of 2:16. 31.
Austin Melius earned a fourth-place finish in the 1600 meter run. Melius then notched a third-place finish in the
3200 meter run
Logan Naspinski and Ian Lowery finished eleventh and twelfth in the 300-meter hurdles.
The 4×100 relay team comprised of Tyler Cooke, Ryan Bossert, Andrew Hovis and Jacob Hummel finished fourth.
The 4×400 team consisting of Bossert, Logan Von Gunden, Ian Lowery and Austin Craig finished seventh.
Andrew Hovis finished second in the pole vault.
Moryelle Fernandez finished second in both the long jump and triple jump events.
Max Kroell took second in the shotput and ninth in the discus throw.
The Bellefonte track team returns Tuesday with an away contest versus Philipsburg-Osceola.
