Keystone: 9-11 year olds split doubleheader

FROM STAFF REPORTS

The 9-11 year old Keystone All Stars split their twin bill Thursday versus Maryland and Massachusetts. Keystone won game 1, 7-4, versus Maryland before dropping the second to Massachusetts, 7-6 in extra innings.

In the second game Keystone surrounded six runs in the second inning, but fought back to tie the game.

Watt Probst supplied an RBI in the fifth to slash Keystone’s deficit, 6-1. Later in the inning Blake Walker smashed a three-run home run to put the game 6-4. Probst added another RBI in the top of the sixth before Hunter Donley stole home to even the game, 6-6.

Keystone’s defense forced an extra-innings game before Massachusetts scored on a passed ball to win the game, 7-6.

The loss was Keystone’s first of the season.

Keystone returns Friday versus New York at 7 p.m.
