Man riding in vehicle shot by pedestrian in Pittsburgh
PITTSBURGH (AP) — Police in western Pennsylvania say a man in a vehicle was critically injured when he was shot by a pedestrian over the weekend in Pittsburgh.
The Public Safety department said four males were driving in the East Liberty neighborhood of the city shortly after midnight Friday when they saw a group of people come out of an opening in a fence along the East Liberty Gardens/Enright Court area.
Officials said the driver slowed as the group entered the street and approached the median, and they recognized some of the individuals before one of them opened fire.
The 25-year-old victim, who was sitting in the rear seat on the driver’s side, was apparently hit in the mouth and was taken to a hospital in critical condition.
