CC Historical Society offers a little Shakespeare under the stars

LOCK HAVEN-“A Midsummer Night’s Dream” is a chance to listen to Shakespeare while a summer evening breeze ruffles the leaves on tall walnut and oak trees.. at the Heisey House Museum on Tuesday at 8:30 p.m. Bring your lawn chair or blanket, and the Clinton County Historical Society will provide the popcorn.

This is a free screening of the 1930s film adaptation of the Shakespeare play, starring James Cagney, Dick Powell, Olivia DeHaviland, Joe E. Brown, Mickey Rooney, Victor Jory and Anita Louise, among others. The music of Mendelssohn and the direction of Max Reinhardt give this film both a sense of fun and haunting beauty.

This is a free event sponsored by the historical society.

Visit www.clintoncountyhistory.com for information on upcoming events and watch for information on a free screening of the movie classic “Julius Caesar” coming in August.
