On February 28th or March 4th eighth grade students from CMMS were given the opportunity to spend half the day at the high school. They were exploring and getting ideas of what classes they want to take next year.

There are several different CTC classes that the 8th graders learned about during their field trip to CMHS. These included Culinary Arts, Health OC, Childcare, Cosmetology, Automotive and more!

One program 8th graders learned about was the Culinary Arts program. In this program students have the opportunity to prepare food as served in a restaurant. Parents and residents of the community can pay to dine on what the students make. Students make a salad, desert and main course meal.

Another CTC program 8th graders learned about was Cosmetology. Students interested in learning how to do hair and nails can work towards earning a cosmetology certificate.

Last but not least another interesting CTC program students learned about was the Automotive program. In this program students learn about cars and how they work. Students get to fix, work and restore cars.

CTC classes are available starting in 9th grade. Students can continue with these classes through 12th grade. Ninth grade students can have one period daily of a CTC classes. However, seniors may take up to 3 periods daily of the CTC programs.
