BELLEFONTE — Seventh grade Bellefonte Area Middle School student Addison Wynkoop was selected as a National Semifinalist in Youth Musical Theatre by the National Association of Teachers of Singing (NATS).

Selected from more than 1,000 participants in the preliminary rounds, as a semifinalist, Addy beat out singers from 14 American and Canadian regions, as well as the International Region, which comprises six chapters spread over four continents.

This selection places her in the top 15 of all NATS youth musical theatre singers. On June 27 and 28, Addy will compete for the top title in Knoxville, Tenn.

She will be singing “I Cain’t Say No” from Oklahoma and “Watch What Happens” from Newsies.
