Helping Hands

The Helping Hands program will not be open tomorrow as originally scheduled. The program at United Evangelical Lutheran Church, Lock Haven, offers free hygiene and cleaning supplies. The next time the program will be open is Wednesday, Aug. 1, from 9 to 11 a.m.

Jacksonville Festival

The annual Jacksonville Festival will be held Saturday in the village of Jacksonville. Fun, food and games begin at 5 p.m. with something for everyone. The Back Porch String Band will play from 6:30 to 10 p.m. This event, which benefits the Jacksonville Cemetery Association, is a homecoming of sorts for many and has been happening for more than 80 years.

‘Astronomy Aspirations’

“Astronomy Aspirations DiscoverE Program” is offered at 1 p.m. Wednesday, July 25 at Kettle Creek State Park and at 1 p.m. Thursday, July 26 at Ole Bull State Park. This program is intended for children ages 6-12. Join the naturalist to learn some of the different constellations in the solar system, using star charts. A craft and game also are planned. All children must be accompanied by an adult. Meet at the Nature Center.
