Downtown Rotary gives donations, award

PHOTOS PROVIDED

The Rotary Club of Downtown Lock Haven gave donations and honored a special club member at a recent meeting. Above, the club gave contributions to the Lock Haven Area Shoe Bank; Ross Library; the local veterans fund handled by the Clinton County Veterans Affairs office; Team RWB which partners with the club on the annual Flags of Honor project; and Clinton County Special Olympics toward local Olympians’ trip to the World Games in Abu Dhabi in March. Donations also went to Avenue 209 Coffeehouse where the club often meets and Covenant United Methodist Church which hosts club projects including board game nights and Festival of Trees. From left are Ross Library Director Tammy Garrison and Shoe Bank Co-directors Diahann Claghorn and Wendy Stiver (all three are club members), with Clinton County Veterans Affairs Director Bill Bechdel, Bo Hagaman representing Team RWB, and Larry Rupert representing Clinton County Special Olympics. At right, new Rotary Assistant Governor Suzanne Foust, right, was named Rotarian of the Year by her fellow club members. She creates the club’s e-newsletter, continues to serve as secretary, and represents the club often at district events. Club President Diahann Claghorn is seen presenting her with the award.
