Word of the Day

Temerity — Excessive confidence or boldness; audacity.

Quote of the Day

“I don’t deserve any credit for turning the other cheek as my tongue is always in it.”

— Flannery O’Connor

Angel Lights

The Angel Lights luminaries to commemorate Sept. 11, 2001 will return to Triangle Park tonight, even if it rains. Look for the candles lit against the darkness. Each one is in honor of or in memory of soldiers, teachers, loved ones and other people who have had a positive impact on someone’s life. The display is sponsored by the Rotary Club of Downtown Lock Haven.

‘CCC of Potter County’

Ole Bull State Park offers the program “The CCC of Potter County,” a chance to examine structures at the park constructed by the Civilian Conservation Corps. Topics will include life during the Great Depression, the life of a CCC boy, and some of the other camps of the area. The program is planned for 7 p.m. Friday, meeting at the amphitheater.

Happy Birthday!
