Fall Festival Oct. 13 at Crossroads Church
JERSEY SHORE — Crossroads Church in Jersey Shore will be hosting its 7th annual Fall Festival on Saturday, Oct. 13, from 4-7 p.m.
The festival is open and free to all families and community members in Jersey Shore and surrounding areas.
Featured will be many games, activities, food, hayrides and more.
The event typically draws anywhere from 1,000-1,300 attendees.
Lycoming Audubon plans field trip
WILLIAMSPORT — The Lycoming Audubon Society will be holding a field trip to Cogan House Twp., walking mowed field trails, looking for grassland sparrows and other species, as well as enjoying vistas and a wooded stream.
The event will begin at 8:30 a.m. Saturday, Oct. 6. Water-resistant shoes suggested.
Those wishing to attend should meet at Fry’s Turkey Ranch off Route 15, seven miles north of Trout Run, to carpool.

Rally for Recovery
is Oct. 6
LOCK HAVEN — Advocates for a Drug-Free Tomorrow and West Branch Drug and Alcohol Abuse Commission are celebrating National Recovery Month by holding the 4th Annual Rally for Recovery on Saturday, Oct. 6, at Riverview Park, Woodward Township.
The event is meant to honor individuals and families who are in long-term recovery as well as those lost to the disease. This year’s event will also honor our veterans of the armed services.
Registration starts at 9 a.m. with the 5k race to kick off at 10 a.m. The event ends at 3 p.m.
The cost to enter the race is $10, plus a $2 sign-up fee.

Para Educator training offered at CM
MILL HALL — Highly Qualified Para Educator training and certification will be offered by Central Intermediate Unit 10 at the Central Mountain High School from 4 to 8 p.m. daily, Oct. 2 through Oct. 5. The training is free.
The training is limited to the first 25 registrants.
Those completing the training can apply for positions as building assistants, personal care aides and teacher assistants.

Baptist Church plans fall festival
AVIS — The Walnut Street Baptist Church will hold a Fall Festival from 2 to 5 p.m. on Saturday, Oct. 6, at the church soccer field, across from the Dairy Queen in Avis.
There will be apple cider, hot chocolate, candy and other foods. Also, games, prizes, face painting and pumpkin painting will be available.
It’s free fall fun and everyone is welcome to come and celebrate the beginning of the fall season.
