Ole Bull Museum’s proprietor

This is a replica of “Ole Bull’s Castle,” based on a 12th-century Viking house, built in 1970 at Carter Camp, Potter County, near the Ole Bull Museum. We believe that is the museum’s proprietor, Dr. Inez Bull, seated out front. Dr. Bull, a resident of New Jersey who spent summers here, was a descendant of famed violinist Ole Bull who came to Potter Country from Norway in 1852 to establish a community in Potter County, which turned out to be an ill-fated endeavor. Dr. Bull devoted herself to carrying on his memory. She was also known for conducting a music competition every year in the Galeton area and arranging for the winners to perform at Carnegie Hall in New York City.
