Banjo, guitar class of 1934-35

Tom Berry of Beech Creek brought us this photo named “Banjo Et Haw. Guitar Class of ’34-’35.” His mother, Pauline McCloskey, is the girl on the far left in the second row. Her son said he did not even realize she played guitar. He thinks the photo was taken in the old Beech Creek School and it may show a class, or it may show a group of young people who got together to play instruments just for fun. The people are, from left, in front: Linn Heverly, William McKean, Jack Kessinger, George Murray and Eugene Hunter; in the second row: Beech Creek High School music director V.H. Pifer, Pauline McCloskey, Louise Bitner, Jane Linn, Ruth Bechdel, assistant principal Veronica Hall, intermediate teacher Evelyn Confer, primary teacher Gladys Weber; and Principal Harold Robb; and in back: Warren Miller, Harold Packer, Bryan Bullock, Harold Heverly, Millar Holter, Stanley Bitner and Robert Murray.
