Rivals join forces for a good cause

JERSEY SHORE — Rivalries are meant to stay on the field.

That’s exactly what students at both Jersey Shore and Central Mountain high schools are proving with a joint fundraiser planned for Saturday, Sept. 15, at Buttorff’s Hardware in Jersey Shore.

Cheerleaders, football players and students of both Jersey Shore and Central Mountain high schools have planned the event to help raise funds for Caleb Leone’s family.

Caleb, a senior at Jersey Shore High School, was seriously injured on Aug. 14 during football practice. Since then he has undergone major brain surgery and remains in critical condition.

The students will offer car washes from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. as well as sell hot dogs, sodas, water and lots of other goodies, with all proceeds going to the Leone family to help in these difficult times.
